A Falvelon colt from Raheen Stud topped Day 2 of the 2011 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale on Monday.

Queensland trainer Pat Duff bought the colt for $110,000. “He’s a standout and a typical Raheen Stud type horse – tough, strong and sound,” Duff stated. “My top galloper Hard To Catch was reared at Raheen and he won over a million dollars.

“Once owners have bought a QTIS horse, they don’t want anything else,” Duff explained. “It’s absolutely vital to keep the industry flourishing.”

The Raheen session-topper is from Untold (Balmerino) and is a half-brother to Listed Recognition Stakes winner Secrets Untold.

A Raheen colt by Snippetson also made the Top 10 on the QTIS 600 leader board. The colt from Miss Rogers (Danehill Dancer) sold for $50,000 to Magic Millions as agent for a Singapore buyer.

Raheen sire Stromberg Carlson was also popular at the Gold Coast sale. Raheen consigned his top colt ($45,000) and top filly ($32,000).

The Stromberg Carlson – Kai Kai Wara colt is a half-brother to 7 seven winners including Eagle Farm winner Pegunny Roy who is by former Raheen sire Shovhog.

Pegunny Roy is raced by Bill Reid and also he snapped up his younger half-brother on the Gold Coast

The Stromberg Carlson – Millibaci filly was purchased by Epsom Lodge. She is a half-sister to Doomben winner Dubaci and their dam also has a filly foal by Raheen sire Publishing.

Trade at the QTIS 600 Yearling Sale reached $6.69 million at an average price of $19,287.
