At Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne, Darley's deceased Gr3-winning & multiple Gr1-placed stallion Commands (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) added a Group success when 3YO colt Oak Door (Commands (AUS) 1996 out of Beyonce's Star (AUS) 2004, by Orientate) scored a front-running 1 length win for trainer Robert Smerdon in the $200,000 Gr2 Autumn Stakes (1400m) for 3YOs, over fellow colt Attention (Stratum-Flamboyance, by Snowland) & 3YO gelding Knowable (Hinchinbrook-Special Test, by Octagonal). This was the first stakes victory for the progressive Oak Door who boosted his record to 4 wins and 4 placings from 11 starts for $234,500 earnings. Oak Door, who was a $340,000 purchase by Aquanita Racing at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Raheen Stud, holds an entry in the $750,000 Gr1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on 4 March.
