Forster filly too good in Timeform Plate

Thursday, 15 November 2012

Germayne Lass continued her rise up the ranks with another impressive victory at Doomben on Wednesday.  It was her third win in four starts since resuming from a winter spell.

The Desleigh Forster trained filly stalked front-runner Sharma in the Timeform Plate (1640m) and then scooted clear to score by the best part of three lengths.  “It’s hard to gauge how much improvement there is with her,” Forster said on Thursday.  “She went down to the farm this morning to freshen up and we will have a look at the calendar to see what’s in store.”

Germayne Lass (3f Stromberg Carlson – O’Venus by Anabaa) was bred by Raheen Stud and is raced by Norm Mayne and Adrian Bellotti.  She is a younger half-sister to HKJC Pok Oi Cup winner Jade Molly.

Jade Molly (Viscount) was originally named Men Are From Mars and, after winning at Cranbourne in June 2010, was sold to clients of trainer Ricky Yiu.

Their dam O’Venus has missed since foaling Germayne Lass but Raheen’s Basil Nolan jnr reports the mare has a PPT to Captain Sonador this year.

Germayne Lass continued the outstanding season being enjoyed by Forster and Raheen has played its part in the winning run.  Stable star Adebisi was bred and sold by the Warwick based stud he has pulled up well after winning the Salt Design Hcp (1000m) last Saturday.

Forster reports the Shovhog gelding is on course to defend his G3 George Moore Stakes crown but she won’t confirm a Sydney trip until after the Eagle Farm feature sprint on December 8.
