Beethog salutes in the Guineas

Wednesday, 12 May 2010

Raheen-bred and raised filly Beethog launched her Winter Carnival assault with plenty of tenacity and conviction when she scored an impressive victory on Saturday, 8 May in the Group 3 Carlton Mid Gold Coast Guineas 3YO Plate over 1200m.

The lightly raced Shovhog filly made it three wins and two second placings from just seven starts and lifted her earnings to over $113,000.

Beethog’s Guineas win was just rewards for long time Raheen client Greg Ryan who himself is responsible for the filly’s pre-training.

Beethog is one of six winners from the 100% winner to runner producer Gypsy Ahlee – an unraced daughter of Alquoz.

She is the dam of another stakes performer in Gypsy Mai – a five time winner and stakes placed in an Angst Handicap. She in turn is the dam of impressive winners including Romany Star (Monster in Macau) and Gypsy Ruler.
