Adebisi hones Razor Sharp skills in Sydney

Queensland sprinter Adebisi provided a valuable pedigree update for his Magic Millions bound half-sister by Jet Spur with a last-start victory in Sydney.

Adebisi (5g Shovhog – Hell For Leather by Sanction) completed a successful hit-and-run raid in the LR Razor Sharp Quality at Warwick Farm and he clocked a class-record 1.09.97s courtesy of an outstanding front-running ride by Hugh Bowman.

Adebisi was a$15,000 graduate from Raheen Stud at the 2009 Gold Coast Magic Millions and studmaster Basil Nolan will offer the Jet Spur filly as Lot 878 during Session 5 of the 2013 Magic Millions.

The Shovhog gelding has now earned over $640,000 for trainer Desleigh Forster following prior black-type victories in the G3 George Moore Stakes, LR Bribie Hcp and LR Gold Edition Stakes.  He is a younger brother to Doomben winner The Gingermeister who was also trained by Forster for a syndicate that included Nolan.

Their dam Hell For Leather foaled a filly by Raheen’s G1 Epsom Hcp winner Captain Sonador in September and she was bred back to Commands.

“It was a good win and Adebisi is a good horse on his day,” Forster said at Warwick Farm.  “The weight gets him up in Queensland so we thought we’d bring him down to Sydney.  We will probably keep coming back here to stay away from the handicapper back home.  He’s a brave horse but everyone knows that weight stops trains.”

The Jet Spur – Hell For Leather filly is one of 8 yearlings Raheen has catalogued for Session 5 on Sunday, January 13 on the Gold Coast.  Nolan has yearlings by Sebring, Flying Spur, Commands, Testa Rossa and Show A Heart (2) going under the hammer during the high-profile Sessions 1-4.
